The aftermath

It was at least 20 years since the last invasion. Yeah, when you live in the 22nd century, alien invasions are common. We have had one nearly every decade. But the latest invasion was ... different.   Houses burned. People were crying. UFOs were flying in the sky- Just kidding. That is not how it went. Even though I wasn't present at the moment I know that the invasion was quiet. People weren't even aware of what was happening. The aliens came at night. According to our history textbooks, they always came at night. They came and swooped in; separating people from their families, taking over their minds. However, some people knew. They knew when the invasion was going to happen and they knew where the alien nest was. They also knew the dangers of their mission. Some very brave and gallant heroes died trying to save this planet. It was a long and dangerous task which even the government was unaware of until the very end. In the memories of the brave soldiers who fought for our li...

All the strange things.

Chapter 1. Honestly, I love the rainy weather. You got the whole howling wind thing going on with the thunder and lightning. But I like my rainy days when strange men don't fall from the skies, don't you? It was on one faithful Saturday night that I had forgotten to close the Big Window ( of course, if I had closed the Big Window then the night wouldn't have been so faithful now would it?). No one in the house had ever forgotten to close the Big Window. They had a good reason for that too. See, when you keep the window open during the night, there are liable threats that may incur. For example, last spring, a family of owls had welcomed themselves into the library and wrecked the poor room. In autumn, t...

A tryst with myself.

Have you ever met someone who works endlessly? Someone who knows about the internal pain they suffer from because of this endless work? I know a good amount of people who are like this. They think that they are doing something great for their future. Their family's future. That's fine, but don't be too hard on yourself. It's completely okay to work but don't take pressuring yourself as means to finish your tasks. Take a break. You deserve it. And while you're doing that here's a little poem for you- ----------------------------------------------------------- You say you are working, Trying to make a better life. You say you know what you're doing, For a world without strife. But will it really matter? Or will all your work be in vain? When at last you come to know of The precious time you had slain. You work for success, you say, for fame, But after life, all you carry to the dead is your name. You say you dream of glory, Like the kings who could never b...
